The Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE) Cavite Chapter demonstrated its commitment to excellence and innovation at the 20th PSABE IV-A Regional Convention held on the 11th of April, 2024 at the Lipa Convention Center. This pivotal gathering brought together professionals from the agricultural and biosystems engineering sectors to engage in discussions and explore innovative strategies aimed at advancing sustainable agriculture practices.
A
series of insightful plenary sessions featuring prominent experts in the
subject kicked off the convention. During his talk, "Innovate to
Cultivate: Advancing Sustainable Agriculture with SIGLA," Dr. Ronaldo B.
Saludes fascinated the audience by showcasing cutting-edge methods for
improving agricultural output in a sustainable way.
In
her analysis of the Fishery Mechanization Index (FishMI), Dr. Rossana Marie C.
Amongo clarified the index's importance as a key instrument for assessing
mechanization in the fishing industry. Meanwhile, Engr. Crestituto C. Mangaong
underlined the significance of putting into practice efficient water management
techniques and the crucial role that effective water irrigation plays in the
agri-fishery sector.
The
convention continued to explore forward-thinking topics with presentations from
Dr. Paolo Rommel P. Sanchez on "Robotics for Sustainable Agricultural
Development," and Engr. Jaykie Homer P. Hernandez on the "Evolving
Roles of ABE in Sustainable Agricultural Practices." These sessions
underscored the transformative impact of emerging technologies and
methodologies on the future of agriculture and biosystems engineering.
The
convention served as a crucial venue for a business gathering, when regional
and provincial chapter officers gathered to discuss future plans and
activities, in addition to the thought-provoking plenary sessions. This
segment's high point was the election and inauguration of a new slate of
officials, which represented a major accomplishment and established a full
program for the upcoming year.
The
active participation of PSABE Cavite Chapter in the 20th PSABE IV-A Regional
